Parents & Players -

We know how overwhelming it can be to understand and go through the NCAA Certification (age verification) and Eligibility Center (eligibility for NCAA D1-III scholarships) process below.  Take a deep breath, click on the links one at a time, and take the time to read through the suggested information below.    Registering for the NCAA BBCS is relatively simple, and the first step needed to participate on the Lincoln Basketball Elite team.

Registering in the NCAA Eligibility Center will take some time to navigate and is only necessary if the player intends to play basketball at the college level.  If after going through the links below you still have questions, please have your player, you and/or both schedule a time to meet with your player's HS College & Career Center.  They can help you go through the process and guide you best.

At the bottom of this page is our NCAA presentation to learn more about NCAA eligibility.

STEP 1 - Prepare to play with LBE

NCAA Basketball Certification System (BBCS)

ALL athletes participating in NCAA-certified non-scholastic events (such as AAU) MUST have an active account in the NCAA Basketball Certification System (BBCS).  This verifies the player's age and eligibility to play.

Once registered/renewed, you will be able to respond to your Bench Invitation(s) in the bbcs.ncaa.org (BBCS) website.  You will receive this invitation via email inviting you to "link" to your LBE team.  Please sign into your BBCS account at that time to accept.

NOTE:
This registration is REQUIRED to participate...NO exceptions.

It is also HIGHLY RECOMMENDED all players to have on hand a legal document copy (birth certificate) or government issued ID (Drivers License/State ID) and latest school report card with them to all events.  Though not usually needed since the information is already uploaded at the time of NEW registration, it is much quicker to resolve situations that may come up.

STEP 2 - For those interested in playing ball in College.

NCAA Eligibility Center Registration (previously NCAA Clearinghouse)

The NCAA Eligibility Center registration is an essential step in becoming eligible to play college sports. Over 180,000 potential college athletes register with the NCAA every year.

If you want to play NCAA college sports and receive a scholarship at the DI or DII level, you will need to register and be cleared by the NCAA. The Eligibility Center is the organization within the NCAA that determines the academic eligibility and amateur status for all NCAA DI and DII athletes.

It is best to create your account by the start of your junior year in high school to avoid getting caught it the backlog of athletes trying to get cleared at the end of the year. Once your account is created you will have several more steps to submit your transcripts, test scores and answer your amateur status questionnaire before you are finished.
